• Usage data — pages visited, time on page, referral source, and general interaction patterns (aggregated through privacy-respecting analytics)

03How we use your information

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal information. Verdant Edge extends these rights to all users, regardless of location, as a matter of policy.

We respond to all verified privacy requests within 45 days. If we need more time (usually because a request is unusually complex), we will tell you within the initial window and provide an estimated completion date. Identity verification: we may ask for one piece of information confirming your identity (typically a reply from the email address we have on file) — we do not ask for sensitive documents like government IDs.

08How we protect your data

• Encryption in transit. Our website runs entirely over HTTPS (TLS 1.3). All data sent between your browser and our servers is encrypted.
• Access controls. Only Verdant Edge staff who need access to client records can access them. All staff undergo confidentiality training.
• Password hygiene. All business accounts use unique passwords with multi-factor authentication enabled.
• Backups. Business records are backed up daily to encrypted cloud storage with a 30-day retention.
• Incident response. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulators within the timeframes required by law — typically within 30 days of discovery.

We cannot guarantee absolute security — no business can — but we take reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the information you entrust to us.

09Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We do occasionally photograph completed landscaping projects for our portfolio, and those photographs may incidentally include children playing on a lawn or in a garden. These images are always taken with the property owner's consent, and any identifiable minor is either excluded from publication or photographed with explicit written permission from their parent or guardian.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the services we offer. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

For material changes — anything that affects how we collect, use, or share your personal information — we will notify clients via email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. For minor changes (clarifications, formatting, contact updates), we update the page without notification.
