Verdant Edge Landscaping LLC is committed to making our website, digital communications, and physical services accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. Accessibility is not a checkbox for us — it's part of running a business that serves Central Texas neighbors well.

We believe that everyone should be able to browse our portfolio, request a site survey, read about our services, and communicate with our team without barriers. If you encounter any difficulty with our website or our services, we want to hear from you.

02Standard applied

Our website is designed and developed to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, and they are recognized internationally as the benchmark for digital accessibility.

The WCAG 2.2 framework is built around four core principles — content must be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR). We apply this framework at every stage of design, development, and content creation.

03Measures we've taken

To support accessibility on our website and in our services, we have taken the following measures:

• Semantic HTML structure. We use proper heading hierarchy (h1 through h4), landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer, aside), and list markup for all list content — enabling screen reader navigation.
• Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element — links, buttons, form fields, the site menu, the estimate modal — is reachable and operable using a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
• Color contrast. All text and interactive elements meet or exceed the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
• Alternative text. Every content image carries descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes so screen readers skip them.
• Form labels and error messaging. All form inputs have associated labels, and validation errors are announced via ARIA live regions.
• Reduced motion support. Users who set prefers-reduced-motion in their operating system see a reduced-animation version of the site — no scroll animations, no hover transitions.
• Responsive design. Layouts work at any viewport width, with content readable and interactive elements accessible at browser zoom up to 200%.
• Accessible name & role. Interactive components use appropriate ARIA roles and accessible names, verified through automated and manual testing.
• Screen reader testing. We test new features with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) before shipping.

04Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some parts of our website or services may not yet be fully accessible. We actively work to identify and address these limitations, and we list them here for transparency.

We also note that accessibility of third-party content embedded on our site — analytics tools, font delivery networks — is outside our direct control, though we select providers whose products meet or exceed WCAG AA standards.

06Formal grievance procedure

Formal grievances are acknowledged in writing within five business days and receive a full written response within thirty business days, including a description of any corrective action we will take.

07Review cycle

This accessibility statement is reviewed and updated at minimum annually, and additionally whenever we make significant changes to the website or receive substantive feedback that requires a policy update. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.

Our accessibility work is not finished, and probably never will be — the standard evolves, the technology changes, and every new feature is a chance to improve or to introduce new barriers. We treat it as an ongoing commitment, not a completed project.
